Low Tide

Depending on the time of year the tidal part of the Thames – the Tideway – rises and falls twice a day by about 7 metres. The Tideway stretches downstream from Teddington Lock to the Thames Estuary. This print doesn’t show a specific part of the Thames, but is just the familiar sight of small boats marooned on the wide expanses of mud that are revealed at low tide.
