Time for a resurrection!

OPEN CALL

COME AND GET INVOLVED In the CREATIVE EXTRAVAGANZA THIS SUMMER!

Looking for creative types – you know the sort of thing – musicians, artists, poets, comedians etc. etc. to populate this wonderful space this summer.

This community initiative aims to create a collaborative, inclusive project in a beautiful and convivial space. We’re really trying to make it a space for everyone. We’ll be changing artists regularly to allow time for everyone.

At this stage, we’re just finding out who’s interested, what they want to do. If you’re interested you can let us know by emailing:

  • Me – duncang65@gmail.com, or
  • The venue – standrews@ironpier.beer, or
  • Message me directly via this blog.

Let us know:

  • Your name
  • Contact details, and
  • How you’d like to get involved.

You’ll find a little bit about the background to the project and Iron Pier‘s involvement, below.

As you know Iron Pier Brewery has supported art and music since its conception, so please do get involved and let’s make something happen!

P.S. the beer is superb too!

WHAT’S IT ALL ABOUT

Duncan Grant: St Andrew' Arts Centre Gravesend

St Andrew’s riverside Art Centre (Royal Pier Road, Gravesend DA12 2BD) is reopening this summer in partnership with Iron Pier Brewery.

From June 2025, Iron Pier Brewery (named after the Town pier, the world’s oldest surviving cast iron pier) will take over the running of the Centre and work with Gravesham Borough Council to develop a programme of exhibitions, events and activities.

There will also be a small cafe which, of course, will include Iron Pier beers on the menu. The aim is to make St Andrew’s Arts Centre into on of the town’s most visited locations.

Confirmed opening times and events for St Andrews will be shared in the coming weeks.

Iron Pier said: ‘We’re thrilled to be taking on this exciting opportunity. It will allow us to develop further into our local community and continue to promote local art and culture as we have previously. It will be great for us to have a presence by the river which has been such an inspiration for us and our brand.’

‘A little bit about what we’re planning for the space….. It’ll be a multi-use venue with outside seating – of course we’ll be selling beer. We’ll be showcasing local artists. We’ll have comedy nights, parties, bands and we may have shuffleboards too!’

‘To be able to do all this, we’ll be open 11am-10pm from Thursday to Sunday to start with, while we’ll still be doing our usual at the Taproom in May avenue, so no change for us there, just addition!’

‘And, of course, we’re still us so:

  • Dogs welcome
  • Children welcome (supervised)
  • Food can be brought in to eat, and
  • There will be board games/cards Uno.’

You can find out a bit more about Iron Pier Brewery and taproom in this blog from 2020.
